This work address the impact of foreign policies and international relations on the people that live in places that are considered ‘foreign’. I explore this relationship specifically through the speeches of the U.S politicians, how they refer to the people and how they plan on ‘fixing’ the cultures i.e. through invasion or militarization.
As the western world continues to stay involved in Pakistan, a lot of conversations around the subject matter take place in the media. Most of these conversations, however, exclude the people that will be impacted the most. In my work I bring back this missing South Asian by projecting the words of these politicians onto myself and photographing it.
